ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

The Minerals Commission facilitated the establishment of the Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners (GNASSM) to, inter alia, enhance the organisation and coordination of small Scale mining in order to maintain effective regulation of operators in the sub sector.

The Association (GNASSM) has been a major collaborator with the Minerals Commission and the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry at Large; being the forefront of social mobilisation efforts towards the improvement of mining practice relative to capacity building of its members on prudent and judicious minerals resources through sustainable mining, minerals processing methods and environmental management for sustainable development of the sub sector and Ghana as a whole.

GNASSM

We promote Small Scale Mining efficiently and to make more attractive to all small scale miners and thereby discouraging illegal mining completely

The Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners (GNASSM) is the umbrella Association of registered Small Scale Miners as stipulated in our Mining Laws. The Association was formed in 2011 and its formation was facilitated by the Minerals Commission under the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703, subsection 90 (e)). We operate in all the nine Mining Districts as demarcated by the Minerals Commission.
